What We Do

The Anthony Wayne Area Rotary Club brings people together to make good things happen—right here in our community and around the world. From fundraising events to hands-on service projects, our club puts service above self in creative and meaningful ways.

Some of our signature efforts include the Blues, Brews & Brats Festival, our Youth Fishing Derby, Pints for Polio, and a variety of other events and initiatives that support local needs and global causes.

Our Signature Events

Blues, Brews & Brats

Our signature summer event, the Blues, Brews & Brats Festival, brings top blues talent, great local food, and craft brews to 3rd Street in downtown Waterville. Sponsored by generous area businesses, this high-energy evening raises thousands of dollars each year for causes that matter right here at home.

Proceeds support:

  • Scholarships for Anthony Wayne and Otsego High School students

  • Anthony Wayne High School Interact and STRIVE Clubs

  • YMCA youth programs in the Anthony Wayne area

  • Nature’s Nursery Animal Rescue Facility

  • And many other local organizations and community needs

It’s music with a mission—and one incredible night of fun for a great cause.

Save the date for our next Blues, Brews & Brats on Saturday, July 25, 2026!

Annual Fishing Derby

Each fall, the Anthony Wayne Area Rotary Club teams up with the City of Waterville to host a free Fishing Derby at Waterworks Park for kids ages 6–14. It’s a fun-filled morning that includes fishing, prizes, food, games, and special guests—including local K9 units and animal ambassadors from Nature’s Nursery.

Kids can bring their own rod and tackle (a limited supply is available), and prizes are awarded for the most and longest fish caught in each age group. With pizza, refreshments, and activities provided by the Anthony Wayne Community YMCA and the Waterville Tree Commission, it’s a great way for families to connect and enjoy the outdoors—while supporting Rotary’s commitment to youth and community engagement.

Register today for the 2025 Fishing Derby happening on Saturday, September 13 at 8am!

Pints for Polio

Held each October at Buffalo Rock Brewing Company in honor of World Polio Day, our Pints for Polio event brings the community together for a fun night that supports a serious cause: the global fight to end polio.

World Polio Day is a time for Rotary members, public health advocates, and neighbors to unite, celebrate the progress we’ve made, and renew our commitment to eradicating this disease once and for all. With every pint poured, we raise awareness and critical funds to support Rotary International’s End Polio Now campaign.

Thanks to a 2-to-1 match from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, every dollar raised becomes triple the impact—bringing us that much closer to a polio-free world.

Join us on Monday, October 27, 2025 at 6pm to raise a glass and funds for End Polio Now!
